Next, travel through the Trossachs National Park and after passing Callander, stop at the Kilmahog; where Lake Lomond and the Trossach National Park starts. Maybe you'll be lucky to see some of the Highland cows! Between the picturesque landscapes of mountains, lakes and valleys, you will arrive at Rannoch Moor before stopping in one of the most beautiful and magical valleys of Scotland: the Valley of Glencoe. Once there, you can take a photo opportunity of the Three Sisters and admire the landscapes seen in films such as Harry Potter or James Bond. Continuing your trip to Loch Ness through Fort William, the great mountains of Scotland and Ben Nevis will open the doors to the Great Glen. This geological fault divides the heart of the Highlands and hosts beautiful lakes, Lochs Linhe, Lochy, Oich and Ness. The Caledonia Canal and the Fort Augustus Locks will be the next stop. On the southern shore of Loch Ness perhaps you will get a glimpse of its mysterious inhabitant appears: Nessie, the monster of Loch Ness and possibly the most famous monster in the world! During this stop you will have some free time to eat, take a walk or even relax on the shores of the lake. If you wish, you can enjoy an optional cruise on the lake. On the way back to Edinburgh, you will visit Commando Memorial. This monument commemorates the courage of a group of World War II soldiers and offers breath-taking views of Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the United Kingdom. The journey back continues through the Cairngorms National Park, passing by Loch Laggan and Ardverikie House before reaching Pitlochry. This Victorian town will welcome you to regain your strength in one of its pubs, before making your way back to the city as you enjoy the contrast of landscapes that both the Highlands and the Lowlands has on offer and see the beautiful railway bridge that crosses the Firth of Forth.
